Frequently asked questions

In what order are the clean-ups applied?

Always in the same fixed order: remove accents → remove duplicate lines → remove line breaks → remove blank lines → remove extra spaces → trim. A fixed order means the same input and options always give the same result.

How are duplicate lines detected?

Lines are compared after trimming leading and trailing whitespace. The first occurrence is kept exactly as it was written; later lines that match it (ignoring surrounding spaces) are removed.

What does “Remove accents” do?

It converts characters like é, ü and ñ to their plain base letters (e, u, n) by stripping diacritic marks. This is useful for systems that only accept plain ASCII-style text.

What does “Remove extra spaces” change?

Runs of spaces and tabs on a line collapse into a single space. Line breaks themselves are only removed if you also tick “Remove line breaks”.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Cleaning happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves this device.
