Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is drawn on a canvas in your browser and the download is generated locally. Your image never leaves your device.

Does the download keep the original resolution?

Yes. The preview canvas is the full-size original, so the downloaded PNG has exactly the same pixel dimensions as the image you loaded.

Why is the download a PNG?

PNG is lossless, so the watermarked image keeps the original's quality with no extra compression artefacts. If you need a smaller JPEG afterwards, run the result through the Compress Image tool.

What does the tile option do?

Instead of one watermark in a corner, the text is repeated in a grid across the whole image, rotated −30°. That makes the mark much harder to crop out, which suits preview images and proofs.

How do I make the watermark readable on any photo?

The text is drawn bold with a subtle dark shadow, so it stays legible on light and dark areas alike. Lower opacity (around 40–60%) is usually enough to claim the image without dominating it.
